my name is burkey, and this is my home. FourChamberForge is the face of my work, which is a blend of the skills i have picked up over the years. i have a small shop in ferndale, michigan and work in it as often as humanly possible. creating these things, solving problems, the transformation of ideas and inspiration into action and function, this is what i do; this is what i love. certain pieces may be purchased on my etsy site (fourchamberforge.etsy.com) but my favorite thing is custom jobs. please feel free to contact me with your ideas (however vague, or specific) and i will be happy to work with you to turn an idea into an object. i try and work primarily with locally harvested hardwoods (through a network of metro-detroit arborists) but also use exotic hardwoods, steel, stone, leather, paper, stained glass, and any other medium i find necessary. some of my furniture/installations are featured at Inn Season cafe in royal oak (mi), and the Bean and Leaf cafe in rochester hills (Mi). locally, jewelery and wooden journals can be purchased at the following locations:
